The U.S. Department of Energy is the main sponsor of the Graduate Automotive Technology Education (GATE) Centers of Excellence. DOE established Graduate Automotive Technology Education (GATE) to provide a new generation of engineers and scientists with knowledge and skills in advanced automotive technologies and the program is organized as a part of the FreedomCAR and Vehicle Technologies (FCVT) Program.
