Collaboration with other initiatives at UC Davis

Information about Collaboration with other initiatives at UC Davis.

The Fuel Cell, Hydrogen and Hybrid Vehicle Center has developed a close association with related research and education activities at UC Davis. The HEV Center’s involvement with the Challenge X Competition has resulted in a continuing focus on hardware, and the design of on-road vehicles using hybrid and fuel cell systems. The Institute of Transportation Studies is managing the Hydrogen Pathways Research Program where the transition into the Hydrogen Economy is analyzed. Together with Toyota Corporation, the Institute of Transportation Studies is doing a Vehicle Demonstration and Market Research Program, to help implement Toyota's vision of building the Northern California fuel cell vehicle community by linking academics, researchers, consumers and government agencies. The recently established Energy Efficiency Center of UC Davis is in close collaboration with the GATE Center. These synergies have greatly enhanced the experiences of students in the GATE center; neither would have been nearly as successful as it has been without them.
